Here is a selected sampling of some of the sites we have developed over the past several years. Recent jobs are listed near the top along with works in progress, and the larger “showcase” jobs are listed below.
Exacq Technologies Blog (August 2011)
http://www.exacq.com/blog
This is a blog and news page for a company that develops video acquisition software. CWS redesigned the blog using a modern theme and “social” plugins to bring the blog up to date. A mobile theme was also added, providing an app-free way for mobile customers to view Exacq’s news postings. Minor customizations helped make the blog fit Exacq’s needs perfectly.
Russell Ferrante Official Website (August 2011)
http://www.russellferrante.com
This is Russell’s official website, rebooted and powered here by WordPress and the Weaver theme. Since content is currently minimal, this site was very easy to rebuild using WordPress as its platform. The site also demonstrates how we can use custom PHP programming to pull in data from an existing database: the events listed in the righthand column are by way of a custom-designed widget that retrieves the next upcoming events from the database.
Wall Street and You (coming October, 2011)
This is an up and coming new site for investors. Stay tuned for further developments on this new web presence!
Tender Treasures
http://www.tendertreasures.com
The Tender Treasures site features a custom database-driven catalog that utilizes a shopping cart to enter customer orders. This is an example of one of our advanced, customized catalogs. The client has the ability to display cross-sell items on various pages, update the home page with the latest news, and generate thumbnail images for use in category listings. In addition, we have developed a product import system, where the client can export data from their point of sale system and upload it to the catalog, to keep the online inventory availability updated at all times. Finally, the site includes an advanced e-mail mailing list application that lets the client create custom mailing lists on the fly. There are many improvements to this site planned in the coming months, including some layout changes, so visit this site often to watch it grow!
Yellowjackets Online
http://www.yellowjackets.com
This is the official website for the HeadsUp International jazz group Yellowjackets, who are now in their 30th year together. Our firm also celebrates 15 years in business with this site. The group’s website includes many of the same custom features as outlined above (discography, itinerary, customizable home page, gallery), and includes a modified version of our basic online catalog. The success of the online catalog our firm developed was instrumental in completely funding the group’s recording Mint Jam.
Save on Service Pros
http://www.saveonservicepros.com
A site overhaul was done to convert the site to CSS/HTML standards and freshen its look. More importantly, we created a database so that service professionals could sign themselves up, and be approved by our client after payment was received. We also developed a radius search system, where you can locate professionals based on distance, by entering a zip code.
The Record Store Guide
http://www.recordstoreguide.com
A newly launched site now in development. The site uses WordPress as a base, but will contain a complete store directory with geolocation and mobile enhancements as development progresses.
Steve Hoffman Site
http://www.stevehoffman.tv
Steve Hoffman is a mastering engineer located in the Los Angeles area, whose past credits include mastering LPs and CDs for such labels as MCA, DCC (which he’s best known for), Analogue Productions and Rhino (Warner Bros.), among others. The site itself is going to be overhauled shortly with new graphics–check back to see its progress! Up until now, we have only developed the discography system and links database. However, our firm is also responsible for the maintenance and administration of the very popular (and rapidly growing) Music Forums, which is now deployed over a high-powered dedicated server. Our firm manages the servers, and also provides extensive maintenance for the vBulletin forum software.
Tijuana Brass/Herb Alpert
http://www.tijuanabrass.com
This site is a semi-official collector/listener resource for music collectors around the world. The site is a perfect example of how we can utilize blogging software (in this case, WordPress) to become the hub of a busy internet site. In addition, some of the site features include pages that are not part of the blog system, but still styled to matched, which keeps the look and navigation uniform throughout the site. Often, a blog-based website is fastest to set up, and easy for clients to maintain themselves.
Fred Darian: Official Website
http://www.freddarian.com
A reskinned and de-”blogged” version of WordPress that is used here as a content management system. A handful of typical blogging features were removed in order to cut down on maintenance by the client. Also of note is the usage of Mal’s eCommerce as the cart provider–Mal’s cart system accepts Paypal payments from your customers, and item setup is easy and reliable.
Keith Hirsch’s CD Resource
http://www.keithhirsch.com
Another site built around the WordPress engine, this one has several modifications to the templates and page layouts to customize the look of the site.
